2023: Kwara North stakeholders canvass support for Gov AbdulRazaq

Stakeholders of the All Progressive Congress in Kwara North Senatorial Districts have called on the Governor of Kwara State, AbdlRahman AbdulRazaq to contest for second term, The Informant247 gathered.

The stakeholders at a meeting in Moro Local Government Area, on Monday, said AbdulRazaq had achieved a lot as governor in the last two and a half years.

Speaking at the meeting, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Salihu Danladi, said they decided to call on the governor to re-contest his position in order to consolidate his achievements.

According to the Speaker, the governor had brought tremendous progress to Kwara North and beyond through numerous projects.

He hinted that the 2022 budget, which is still before the state assembly for consideration, contains a lot of projects which is aimed at addressing the challenges facing the district.

He urged the people of Kwara North to jettison division and vote for a competent candidate that will change the district’s negative narratives.

Another party chieftain, Illiasu Ibrahim, said the 16 years of the last two consecutive administrations in the state did little or close to nothing in terms of infrastructure, road network, health and economy.

He urged all Kwarans to vote for AbdulRhman AbdulRazaq’s candidacy in 2023.

For the Senator representing Kwara North senatorial district, Umar Suleiman Sadiq, he said the love, respect and appreciation the people of Kwara North have for the Governor is immeasurable, adding that this will be put into test in 2023.

“Our brothers in the opposition party are free to present their candidate to come and face our candidate. We have our party and we have our candidate and our candidate is the sitting Governor,” he said.

Speaking in an interview with our correspondent on the sidelines of the meeting, the Transition Implementation Committee (TIC) Chairman of Moro Council, Isiaka Gani Alikinla, applauded the wonderful performance of the governor in infrastructure, stressing that “the state has never had it this good”.

Others at the event are Amb Abubakar Muhammed, a 2019 gubernatorial candidate; the Former Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Hajia Amina Muhammad; the party vice-chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Samari among several other notable personalities from Kwara North.
