2022 UTME: JAMB optimistic about hitch-free exercise
Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has expressed optimism for a smooth examination scheduled for May.
The examination board revealed this in its Weekly Bulletin of the Office of the Registrar on Monday, in Abuja.
The Informant247 gathered that the examination body had fixed the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to hold between May 6 and May 16.
The board assured the teeming population that it will deliver a seamless exercise in its examination, that will be taking place in 757 centres across the country.
It identified that the success recorded in the mock- UTME which was held on Saturday, April 9 should be a leverage and indication of a smooth UTME.
”At the post-examination analysis held to conduct a post mortem of the examination, the Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, disclosed that the mock- examination, conducted in 757 centres across the nation, was held with little or no hitches.
He stated that the examination body was eager and ready to deliver the most seamless examination ever, come May 6.
The statement however also quoted the Registrar as sending advice to proprietors of Computer-Based Tests (CBT) centres nationwide, not to get carried away by the indicating greenlight but rather consolidate on the success recorded in the just concluded mock exercise and deliver better.
Oloyede expressed that the centres must deliver a better result in the UTME in May.
He affirmed that the just mock examination was done to essentially test its facilities and ascertain its effectiveness for the main UTME.
Moreso, the registrar described the avenue of the mock examination as a way of providing candidates with the opportunity to experience the testing system and how to deal with it in the main exam.
” Taking the mock examination had proved to be one of the most effective tests of readiness for the main examination, ” Oloyede said.
The Informant247 reports that a total of 1.8 million candidates had been registered for this year’s main UTME.
