The enlarged Peoples Democratic Party stakeholders in Ilorin South local government of Kwara state has today, 31st of August, 2019 urged a former Director general of ABS constituency office, Alhaji Wahab Issa and former SUBEB chairman, Barr. Lanre Daibu to run for Governorship and House of Representatives respectively in 2019.
This was made known in a meeting called by two prominent groups, the Turaki Voice and Committee of Patriotic, under the Chairmanship of Alhaji Amuda Olokooba and Alhaji Babatunde Yusuf at the residence of the magaji idi-ogede in Ilorin. Barr. Lanre while giving his remark appreciated the people for finding him worthy to contest and promised to heed their call.
“Ilorin South is my constituency and any of her problems is also mine. I have accepted to run, but subject to the approval of the Senate President.”
He further appreciated the women leaders and the members of the stakeholders and urged them to be peaceful saying the offices are enough and will circulate every interested aspirant.
Alhaji Wahab Issa during his speech commended the leadership of the Senate President Bukola Saraki. He said they were all trained by Dr. Olusola Saraki and remain loyal to his political doctrine.
He pleaded with the stakeholders to give them enough time to make further consultation before making his decision saying the Senate President have the final decision.
Alhaji Adamu Fate, a former party chairman of Ilorin South local government said the whole of Akanbi ward are solidly behind the duo.
Also present at the meeting are Ilorin South local government party chieftains.
