2018: Kwara’s Year of Reinvention
On behalf of myself and family, I seize this opportunity to wish Kwarans across the globe a happy and prosperous new year. We thank God Almighty for his blessings over us and the countless gifts of life.
I’m most sincerely appreciative to all those who in one way or the other made year 2017 worthwhile and unforgettable. 2017 was unarguably a challenging year for Kwara and Kwarans, especially economically and politically.
It however left us with numerous memories and reasons to appreciate the Almighty God and more importantly great lessons that can earn us greater 2018 experience if worked on.
While looking forward to a better Kwara and Nigeria, we must commit ourselves to social, economical and political reinvention, we must break from the norms in a socially responsible and economically productive manner.
A social reinvention process where our youths will again appreciate our values of decency, morality and hardwork.
An economic reinvention where there would be an enabling atmosphere and willing people to drive economic activities for the prosperity of all and political reinvention where the people in whom power ultimately resides are accorded that honour by the citizenry, while they also reciprocate by placing the people first.
I urge all Kwara sons a d daughters, to come back home and invest, we cannot continue to rely on government for all our needs. The best way to tackle our astronomically high unemployment rate is to collectively industrialise Kwara. On the part of government, I charge them to rededicate their efforts towards masses oriented policies and programmes at various levels and that is the only way to reinvent Kwara of yore.
The citizenry must learn to liberally hold office holders accountable and responsible for their actions and inactions at all times, we must do away with primordial sentiments and concentrate on bequeathing a State the next generation would be proud of.
I beseech all Kwarans to continuously pray for our leaders and work resiliently for the common goal of project Kwara. We must unceasingly exert our energy towards ensuring and negotiating a better deal for Kwara and Kwarans.
Once again, I wish us all a happy and prosperous new year.
