2 persons die in Lagos-Abeokuta road accident

Two persons lost their lives on Saturday in a road accident in Ogun state.

The road accident occurred at Iyana Egbado, along the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway, Ogun State.

The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, has confirmed that the fatal motor accident happened at about 06:05 in the morning.

Florence Okpe, the spokesperson of the FRSC  in Ogun, said two vehicles were affected in the accident: a Mack truck with the number plate, T-12736LA and a Nissan Cabster with registration number, KTU142XH.

“A total of seven male adults were involved. Four persons were injured, two persons killed and one person was unhurt,” Okpe told DAILY POST.

The spokesperson of the FRSC said the road accident was connected to high speed and obstruction of the road.

She added that the Nissan vehicle rammed into a truck which already had a flat tyre.

“The injured victims were taken to State General Hospital, Ifo and the corpses were deposited at the same hospital’s morgue,” she added.

Ahmed Umar, the Sector Commander of the FRSC in Ogun, has sympathized with the families of the victims, informing them to communicate the FRSC office in Itori for more details about the incident.

The sector commander sent message of advice to motorists to stay away from indiscriminate parking by the roadside.
