2 killed in Ogun road accident

No fewer than two persons lost their lives and one other seriously injured in a lone accident at Olomore Bridge in Abeokuta, Ogun, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) said on Wednesday.

The Sector Commander, Mr Ahmed Umar, confirmed the incident to newsmen in Abeokuta.

Umar noted that the accident involving a Mazda bus occurred at about 8:20.a.m., blaming the cause of the crash on excessive speed.

He explained that the speeding vehicle lost control and hit the culvert, leading to the death of two occupants.

He said that three persons were involved in the accident comprising two men and a woman, saying that a man and a woman died in the accident while one other sustained serious injury.

Umar noted that the injured victim was taken to General Hospital, Abeokuta, while the corpses were deposited at same hospital mortuary.

He warned motorists to desist from excessive speed and always obey traffic rules and regulations. (NAN)
