The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has issued a warning of potential heavy rainfall and flooding between September 13 and 17 in 13 states and 50 communities, primarily in northern Nigeria.
Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, Lagos Territorial Coordinator for NEMA, conveyed this information in a statement.
The affected states and communities include Kano, Kebbi, Katsina, Niger, Kwara, Zamfara, Bauchi, Taraba, Borno, Adamawa, Yobe, Gombe, and Jigawa.
Communities along Rivers Benue and Niger, extending into Bayelsa, are also advised to take precautionary measures due to rising water levels in these rivers.
