The names of thirteen (13) candidates have been shortlisted for the position of Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, in Kwara State.
The Informant247 learnt that the tenure of the sitting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sulyman Abdulkareem Age will be coming to an end in October 2022.
Sources in the university had revealed that twenty three, 23 candidates applied for the post, but only 13 lucky applicants were to be shortlisted.
The process of interview and selection for the post is expected to take place on Monday and Tuesday this week.
The names of the 13 shortlisted candidates include: Professor Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, (SAN), Professor Muhammed Olanrewaju Ibrahim, Professor Bashir Ademola Raji, Professor Olubunmi Abayomi Omotesho, Professor Ibrahim Ademola Katibi, Professor Mikhaila Olayinka Buhari, and Professor Ahmed Shehu Abdulsalam.
Others are: Professor Hassan Ajisafe Saliu, Professor Suleiman Folorunsho Ambali, Professor Raheem Adebayo Lawal, Professor Abdulrazaq Akinola Alada, Professor Baki Toyin Abdulrahim and Professor Issac Abiodun Adimula.
However, one of the candidates who reportedly applied for the position, Professor Olubunmi Abayomi Omotesho, has via a chat with newsmen in Ilorin on Saturday, debunked the news that he ever applied for the post.
The names of three candidates would be sent to president Muhammadu Buhari for consideration of who would be the next VC of the school.
