Youths held peace walk against electoral violence, vote-buying, ahead Osun guber
Some youths in Osun State under the umbrella of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), have engaged in a peace walk against vote-buying and electoral violence, in Osogbo, the state capital.
The youths reportedly moved from the Freedom Park, across the state capital to educate and sensitize people of the state on their right to vote.
The youths reportedly held in their hands different placards reading: “Do not shed blood in the name of election, all Nigerians are precious”; “Your future is bright, do not sell it.” among others.
The Chairman of the group, Abdulazeez Ismail, while addressing newsmen said that youths are major stakeholders in the electioneering of the country and they should prioritise the peace of the society.
He said the fact that people have lost interest in voting should be a cause for concern.
“However, we also understand that election is fast coming and youths are going to play a large role when it comes to election, starting from voting to election observation and even those that are going to work as INEC Ad-hoc staff.
