You’re useless, Ilorin Emirate students blast Oloriegbe, others

Students across the five Local Government Areas that constitutes the Ilorin Emirate have blasted the senator representing Kwara Central at the National Assembly, Yahaya Oloriegbe, and others over inaccessible representation.

The students, under the aegis of Ilorin Emirate Students Union, in a statement issued and made available to newsmen in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital, accused Oloriegbe – and his colleagues in the Green Chamber, Cook Olododo and Sodiq Alajagusi – of neglecting them and also allegedly shying away from their constitutional duties.

The statement reads in part, “With the mind of positive change, we supported the struggle for liberation in the senatorial district not knowing our representatives for the seats at the National Assembly have nothing for the students community.

“Hon. Sodiq Alajagusi representing Asa/Ilorin West federal constituency, till date, has no single appearance at the chamber talkless of having aides.

“Hon. Cook Olododo of Ilorin East and South federal constituency has betrayed the trust and mandate given to him, till date we can say his constituency offices are just like store which opens on occasion.

“On his part, Sen. Yahaya Oloriegbe has done practically nothing so far except for the acclaimed 350 Jamb forms, which he can’t provide evidence for, and a town hall meeting.”

The Apex Ilorin Emirate students body however called on the parliamentarians to change their notion on representation and stop running away from their responsibilities.
