An All Progressive Congress chieftain and CEO, Kursi Investment Limited, AbdulFatai Yahaya Seriki Gambari has extolled the virtues of the Kwara State Governor, Mall. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on the occasion of his 60th birthday.
A statement he personally signed in Ilorin on Wenesday, said AbdulRazaq’s emergence as the state governor gave hope to Kwarans.
Seriki noted that “scarcely do we see men so vast in wealth being so humble and caring at the same time.
“Jettisoning my gubernatorial ambition and supporting AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in 2019 has to be one of the riskiest gamble in my lifetime but hardly had he spent three months in office before he justified my support for him.”
The business mogul described the sexagenarian as “an outlier, and a beacon of hope in a land so near to hopelessness.
“By the end of his first three months in office, water has begun running in Kwara central within his two months in office, many road networks in Ilorin hitherto renowned for being death traps were fixed, contracts that were often carried out in shady manners were thrown out there for local contractors to bid for, infrastructures that were used to siphon money, such as the new local government secretariat, were swiftly erected, counterpart funds to UBEC was earnestly paid, schools renovated across the 16 local governments, Bacita sugar company was brought back to the economic playbook and women inclusion in government became so much accentuated it continues to gain accolades worldwide.
“I can go on. But of all these, none speaks to the honesty and kindness of our governor than the attention he paid to the happenings in the rural areas across the state, such as the return of potable water in the state, the revival and installment of discipline back to the health care in the state and his incessant visit to the farthest rural areas in the state.
“From what we learn in history, a government that would turn fortunes around definitely must start from the very little things that affect the commonest of common people.
“While some may say it’s too early to decide whether AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is our Napoleon Bonaparte in Kwara state, I think we can simply adjudge his deeds as a governor by using our past as a standard against which his works can be tested.
“By doing that, we soon lose our conceit and all grounds for cynicism shift quickly towards acceptance.
He consequently said that “on the basis of the past alone, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq deserves the acceptance of all commoners and non-commoners in the state of harmony.
“As he celebrates his 60th birthday today, I wish him more acceptance in the heart of the people he so love, victory against all political headwinds and a resounding success that will reverberate through the annals of history, but above all, I wish him a healthy long life.”
