“You will win in 2027” — Ganduje welcomes Kano Gov Yusuf back to APC
Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has officially returned to the All Progressives Congress (APC), receiving a warm welcome from immediate past party chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, who assured him of a victorious second term in the 2027 governorship election.
Speaking in Kano, Ganduje described Yusuf’s return as “historic” and a major boost for both the state and the party. “You will win your second term in 2027. We have spoken to all aspirants and they have agreed to support you,” he declared.
Recalling Yusuf’s early involvement in the APC, Ganduje said the governor’s comeback marked a significant homecoming. “When the party was formed, you were with us, but later political differences led you away. Now you are back,” he noted.
Ganduje praised Yusuf as a progressive leader whose style aligns perfectly with APC’s ideology, and confirmed that, as a serving governor, Yusuf automatically assumes leadership of the party in Kano State.
He also assured equal treatment within the party and expressed confidence in APC’s strong performance in future elections, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 campaign.
Governor Yusuf’s defection from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has already sparked a wave of political realignments in Kano, with several officials and party members joining him in reuniting with the APC.
