Mai Mala Buni, the Yobe State Governor on Monday, approved the appointment of 24 special advisers to work with him in running the affairs of the state.
In a statement released by the Shuaibu Abdullahi, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, said the appointments followed approval granted by the State House of Assembly, in line with Section 196(2) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended), which stipulated that the number of such advisers shall be prescribed by law or by resolution of the State House of Assembly.
The newly appointed Special Advisers include; Dr Kole Shettima (Policy Delivery), Dr Mahmoud Bukar Maina (Science Research and Innovation), Gen Dahuru Abdulsalam (retd.) (Security Matters), Usman Adamu Kabarma (Political and Legislative Affairs), Alh. Mohammed Lamin (Basic and Secondary Education), Alh. Mala Musti (Higher Education), Alh. Bukar Dauda (Commerce), Hon Abdullahi Usman Kukuwa (Energy and Transport), Sen. Alkali Abdulkadir Jajere (Agriculture), Hon Yerima Lawan Yunusari (Local Government Affairs), Hon Mohammed Samaila Nguru (Environment), Alh. Mohammed Kadai (Finance), Hon Zanna Ali Machina (Wealth and Job Creation), Hon Wakil Ahmed Sarki (Investment)
Others are; Barr. Baba Dala (Legal Matters), Hon Bala Ajeje (Rural Development), Hon Abba Gana Tata ( Works), Ustaz Baba Gana Malam Kyari (Religious Affairs), Hon Musa Gamcho Tela (Health), Sen. The statement added that appointments take immediate effect.
