Yahaya Seriki distributes items worth N25 million to households in Kwara

An All Progressive Congress – APC cheiftain in Kwara State and Chief Executive of Kursi Investment Ltd, Amb. Fatai Yahaya Seriki-Gambari on Wednesday began the distribution of food items worth N25 million to households across the state.

According to the business mogul, the move was neccesary to cushion the effect of the state government’s total lockdown order occasioned by the spread of novel coronavirus.

Our correspondent gathered that the cheiftain distributed several bags of 50kg rice, 10kg semovita among other items.

Speaking to THE INFORMANT247, Seriki commended Kwara residents for obeying the sit-at-home order and in addition advised them to maintain social distancing and keep their environment clean.

He further assured residents of his readiness — also calling on well-to-do individuals — to assist the state government in mitigating the impact of the coronavirus lockdown on Kwarans.

Beneficiaries of this gesture appreciated Seriki and prayed for his continuous success.

Recall that the cheiftain had earlier donated Hand Sanitizers and Face-Masks to the Kwara Government COVID-19 Technical Committe, according to a statement by the Governor’s spokesperson, Rafiu Ajakaye.

The Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq had on April 2 ordered a lockdown of the lockdown of the state as a measure to curb the community spread of the coronavirus. The state currently record 9 cases — 2 discharge and 7 active.
