An All Progressive Congress chieftain in Kwara State, Amb. AbdulFatai Yahaya Seriki-Gambari has denied rumours of backing off from the Kwara Central senatorial race.
Seriki told The Informant247 when contacted on Wednesday that he had not withdrawn from the race.
He said, “No, I have not stepped down my ambition. I am fully in the race and I have no intention of stepping down for anybody.
“You know that I am fully on ground so why then should I withdraw.”
Seriki, a business mogul and philanthropist, attributed the rumour of his stepping down to those he described as detractors.
He added that those behind the rumour – afraid of his overwhelming acceptance by the people of Kwara Central – were only out to deceive his teeming supporters and members of the public.
