Xmas: 5,000 Christians to benefit as Kwara senator Mustapha begins food distribution

Senator Saliu Mustapha, representing Kwara Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has launched a large-scale distribution of food items to Christian residents as part of his annual Christmas outreach programme.

This year’s initiative is set to benefit over 5,000 Christians, making it the most extensive distribution yet, compared to the 3,000 beneficiaries from last year.

Among those receiving support are clergymen, members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) structure, opinion leaders within the Christian community, children, widows, the less privileged, and other groups in need.

Elder Julius Balogun, the coordinator of the distribution, revealed that the programme was planned after extensive consultations with Christian leaders and stakeholders across the district.

“The Turaki of Ilorin, as he is fondly called, has consistently demonstrated that true leadership goes beyond cultural, political, and religious boundaries,” Balogun explained. “It’s no wonder he is often referred to as the ‘Senator for All.’ This initiative further underscores his dedication to serving every segment of society.”

On behalf of Senator Mustapha, Balogun also extended warm Christmas greetings to Christians in Kwara Central and across the state, expressing hope that the food support would bring joy to many families during the festive season.

This gesture comes shortly after Senator Mustapha provided support for the Annual CAN Christmas Carol held earlier in December. At the event, the CAN Chairman in Kwara State, Rev. Samuel Adewole, applauded the Senator’s efforts and urged Christians to continue praying for his success.

“Senator Mustapha has consistently shown that he is a leader who puts humanity first,” said Rev. Adewole. “His unwavering support for the Christian community is admirable, and we ask God to bless and guide him as he continues to serve.”
