Works minister Umahi summoned over deteriorating condition of Oyo-Ogbomoso road
Senator Dave Umahi, the Minister of Works, has been summoned by the Nigerian Senate over the poor state of the Old Oyo-Ogbomoso road.
The summon was followed by a motion raised by Senator Buhari Abdulfatai (APC, Oyo North), who expressed concern over the worsening state of the road.
The senator, in his motion, disclosed that the road linking the South with the North had become a source of severe hardship for travellers.
He said, “For over 10 years, despite the Federal Government initiating major repairs on the road, it remains in a deplorable state, resulting in regular accidents and daily gridlock caused by articulated vehicles.”
The senators debated and resolved to summon the minister.
