Wizkid’s ‘Kese (Dance) breaks record on Spotify with 1.57 million streams in a day

Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, a Nigerian afrobeat singer, has broken his own record for the biggest opening day streams on Spotify Nigeria.

According to reports, Wizkid previously held the record of the biggest opening day streams on Spotify Nigeria with his collaborative R&B hit with American star Brent Faiyaz’s Piece Of My Heart, with 1.016 million Nigerian Spotify streams in a day.

However, his latest single ‘Kese (Dance), broke the record after receiving 1.57 million streams on Spotify Nigeria.

The song also broke the record for the biggest opening day streams for an African song on global Spotify, with 2.753 million streams.

‘Kese’ is one of the lead singles of Wizkid’s highly anticipated upcoming album, ‘Morayo,’ which is scheduled to drop later this month.

The singer said the album is dedicated to his late mom, Mrs Morayo Jane Balogun.
