Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi has been ruled out of the remainder of the English Premier League with a knee injury.
Recall that the Leicester midfielder was injured in his side’s 2-1 second-leg defeat by Rennes in the Europa Conference League earlier this month, a development which saw him missing Nigeria’s 2022 World Cup play-offs against Ghana on March 25 and 29th.
The 25-year who has since undergone surgery made 19 Premier league appearances in the season under review.
Leicester boss, Brendan Rodgers confirmed the latest setback on Thursday when he said, “Wilfred Ndidi will be out for the season, it’s a shame for us, but he’ll get ready for next season.”
“It’s unfortunate,” added Rodgers. “He’s been a brilliant player for me in my time here. He picked up a nasty injury that has had to have surgery on and he’ll recover now until June.”he quipped.
Leicester, 10th on the log will face Manchester City on Saturday in the week 30 encounter of the Premier League.
