Wike unveils FM radio in Rivers to boost Tinubu’s 2027 campaign drive

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has launched a new radio station—Majority FM 89.5—to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general election.

The station is housed within the Renewed Hope Ambassadors’ office in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and is expected to serve as a key communication hub as political mobilisation intensifies across the South-South region.

A video circulating on social media shows Wike inspecting the facility, touring the studio and engaging with staff during the commissioning. Sources say the station was established as a strategic platform for the Renewed Hope movement, a group closely aligned with the Tinubu administration.

Speaking at the event, Wike said the station would amplify grassroots voices across the state.

“This will take messages from all over the 666 units of Rivers State. We are ready for this job; we are ready for 2027,” he declared.

Political analysts believe the launch of Majority FM underscores Wike’s growing influence in Rivers State’s political landscape as the countdown to 2027 begins.

As of the time of filing this report, neither Wike nor the Renewed Hope Ambassadors had issued an official statement detailing the station’s operational framework or programming direction.
