Wike seals off PDP secretariat in Abuja over 28 years of unpaid ground rent
The Federal Capital Territory Authority (FCTA) took action on Monday by sealing the National Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), located in Zone 5, Abuja.
The closure was a result of the party’s failure to pay its ground rent for nearly three decades.
This information was confirmed by Lere Olayinka, the spokesman for the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike. Olayinka stated, “FCTA seals PDP Secretariat in Zone 5 Abuja. It was revoked for not paying ground rent.”
He further elaborated that the property owner, Senator Samaila Mamman Kurfi, has not settled the ground rent for a staggering 28 years, prompting the FCTA’s decisive action.
