Widows,orphans, people with disabilities uplifted as Kwara Senator Saliu Mustapha distributes food packages
Amid the economic hardship and downturn, the light of Senator Saliu Mustapha has emerged from the wilderness to breathe a new life into the circle of most vulnerable people in his senatorial district.
The latest in the Kwara lawmaker’s usual act of kindness and humanitarian support is the
distribution of food packages to widows and orphans in Kwara central senatorial district.
No fewer than 1000 beneficiaries which include widows, orphans, people living with disability and vulnerable were beneficiaries of the lawmaker’s intervention to aid the celebration of Eid-li-kabir.
While presenting the food packs to beneficiaries at his Constituency Office in Fate, Ilorin, on Saturday, Senator Salihu said the palliative will help them have a joyful eid-kabir celebration.
He stated that the beneficiaries revealed that beneficiaries were shortlisted by Community Based Organizations across four local government areas in Kwara Central senatorial district.
The food packages include Rice, Semovita, Spaghetti, Sugar, Salt, Maggi, Milk, Tea, Packs of Macaroni and 1 liter of Vegetable oil for each beneficiary.
One of the beneficiaries appreciated the Senator for providing the relief packages ,which according to her will not only cushion the economic hardship but also lift their soul as they celebrate the sacred festival.
Senator Mustapha however promised that he will continue to put his constituents first in all his legislative dealings.
It would be recalled that Senator Mustapha who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Agriculture Provisions and Rural Development recently flagged off the distribution of fertilisers and other agro essentials worth over N200 million to farmers in his senatorial district.
The first phase of the exercise saw the distribution of 3,500 bags of 50kg fertiliser and 1,000 pumping machines to smallholder farmers as part of a broader strategy to ensure sustainable agricultural practices.
One year achievement of Senator Mustapha
Senator Saliu Mustapha during his campaign promised to deliver unprecedented representation for his constituent.
One year down the line, the Turaki of Ilorin who is also the vice chairman of the Senate Committee on the Federal Capital Territory Area Council, has been able to raise the bar of legislative duties.
Some of his achievements include the facilitation of the reconstruction of one kilometer asphaltic road opposite Al-Hikmah University leading to Oke-Foma link road in Ilorin West Local Government Area.
Solar-powered motorized boreholes and street lights were also installed across the four local government areas of the senatorial district, to complement the state government’s effort in ensuring that the people of the state have access to safe water.
“For record purpose, the solar-powered motorized boreholes were provided at Ile Onifitila, Kankatu, Okelele Road, Ilorin East LGA, Jato Community Ifesowapo, behind Taoheed Central Mosque in Ilorin South LGA, Itamerin Junction, Opposite Alhaja Oil in Ilorin West LGA, Aloba Close, Oke Ikoyi, Oke Oyi in Ilorin East LGA, Agbeyangi town in Ilorin East LGA, while Solar powered street lights were installed at Computer Village Challenge Area, Ilorin; and Muslim Cemetery, Oko-Olowo, among other areas and Over thirty (30) communities across the four (4) Local Government Areas of Kwara Central Senatorial District” the lawmaker said recently
