“Peace cannot be kept by force; it can only be achieved by understanding.”
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.
This is the preaching all over Nigeria and my pivotal stands is specific about Kwara.
The prices for orderliness are cheap while those of violence are usually gruesome and expensive.
As we approach the voting days, we are admonished to be peaceful, coordinated and organized.
We are brothers, born to a peaceful family members and so we are one.
Irrespective of our political divides, election will come and go and our normal hustling will continue and we will still be counted as one.
Why the violence ? why the mayhem? why the brouhaha? and why the conflict ?.
Violence is impractical because it is a descending spiral ending in destruction for all.
It is immoral because it seeks to humiliate the opponent rather than win his understanding: it seeks to annihilate rather than convert.
Violence is immoral because it thrives on hatred rather than love. It destroys community and makes brotherhood impossible.
It leaves society in monologue rather than dialogue. Violence ends up defeating itself.
It creates bitterness in the survivors and brutality in the destroyers.”
Those we want to die for will continue to wine and dine on our common patrimonies and heritage after the election.
Those who plan to unleash violence may soon end up in the dungeon if the arms of the law caught up with them and will end up enjoying the rest of their life with core criminals while the politician you want to die for feeds fat on your futures.
Just be calm my brother, we are one .
Vote and don’t fight is the message !
Vote and no violence is the message !!
Vote and be peaceful is the message!!!
Vote and be orderly is the message !!!!
Vote and be mature is the message !!!!
“To forgive is the highest and most beautiful form of love. In return, you will receive untold peace and happiness” ~ Robert Muller
