We’re always induced to compromise election, but we’re neutral ― Chief of Defence, Gen Irabor

General Lucky Irabor, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), has revealed that pressure is always mounted on security agencies to compromise the credibility and standard of elections.

The army general has however assured members of the public of total commitment, as he said the military will remain neutral.

Irabor made this revelation at the Ministerial Media Briefing which was planned by the Presidential Communications Team in Abuja, the country’s capital on Thursday.

He said security officers are always pressured and induced to compromise the elections.

He said the military has put in place logistics to ensure that the order passed by President Muhammadu Buhari is complied with.

He revealed that the president has directed the military to remain neutral in the forthcoming elections.
