We’ll use information technology to develop Kwara economy: Govt
The Kwara State Government has stated its resolve to use Information Technology to grow the state’s economy.
The Commissioner for Communications, Mrs. Abosede Buraimoh stated this during the flag-off of a five-day digital training programme organised by the Kwara State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ) for its members at the NUJ Press Centre in Ilorin.
She described the advancement in Information Technology as a major source of economic development that contributes significantly to the growth and advancement of any nation.
The commissioner stated that the ongoing State Innovation Hub Project would enhance the skills and technical know-how of the youth when completed.
For his part, the Vice-Chairman, Kwara State House of Assembly Committee on Information, Sports and Youth Development, Mr. Omotayo Felix Awodiji, described the digital training as commendable, pointing out that it was the only way to be relevant in the media industry.
