Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has made a vow that his political camp will not stop demanding for the removal of Iyorchia Ayu, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The Governor made this revelation while addressing journalists in Port Harcourt, the capital of the state, on Friday.
Governor Wike revealed that his demand is for the “interest” of his people.
He reaffirmed that the south should be given the opportunity to hold the position of a National Chairman since the Presidential flagbearer of the party is from the Northern part of the country.
Wike revealed that supporters of Ayu’s chairmanship from the South are hypocrites.
“All you should know is that we are not going to back down. When they say , go and talk to Wike and I ask them a question, they run away. Some of them are just hypocrites.
“I will look into their eyes and say, where are you from, what will you tell your children? You cannot tell them you’re a principled man?
“Our problem in this country is that we always accommodate evil and then you come and tell me it is for the interest of the party”.
Wike recalls that Ayu had made a promise that he would resign if the presidential flagbearer of the party comes from the North.
