We won’t tolerate civil unrest again, Kwara Gov tells Tsaragi, Share residents

The Kwara State Government has called for peace between the people of Share and Tsaragi communities in Ifelodun and Edu Local Government Areas following a recent land dispute clash near Kange Community.

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, represented by Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs, and Community Development, Hon. Abubakar Abdullahi Bata, stated during an emergency meeting with the Etsu Tsaragi, Alhaji Aliyu Abdullahi Kpotwo, and the Olupako of Share, Oba Haruna Olawale Suleiman, that the administration would no longer tolerate any act of civil unrest.

The Governor implored the Royal Fathers to prioritize their people’s welfare and foster peaceful coexistence.

“I want to implore you Royal Fathers, the High Chiefs, and Stakeholders from the two communities to ensure that you maintain peace because an enabling environment for economic and socio-cultural advancement can only be achieved by calling your subjects to embrace peaceful dialogue and tolerate each other,” he said.

The Monarchs thanked the Governor for facilitating the peace meeting and addressing the disputed land issues. They promised to prevent future conflicts.

Mrs. Iyabo Modupe Adekeye, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, expressed appreciation to the Governor and the Monarchs for their commitment to ensuring peace returns to their communities.
