We welcome constructive criticism: Gov AbdulRazaq

Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Friday said his administration welcome constructive criticism.

Groups have condemned the government’s recent crackdown on critics, saying it is meant at creating a chilling effect on freedom of expression online.

However, the governor at a book launch in Ilorin, the state capital on Friday said he advocates constructive criticism.

The Governor, who was represented by his deputy, Mr. Kayode Alabi, encouraged more dedication to intellectual documentation as it could be a yardstick to guide public officers about their future references.

He said, “I hope to see more efforts dedicated into putting things in perspectives so that generations unborn can understand our journey as a people. Such efforts will guide us and generations unborn to make informed decisions about the future. It helps to also remind everyone, especially people in public office and every player, that our actions and inactions could be a subject of history.”

He appealed to the people to engage in future building as election approaches by curbing violences, social vices and apathy as his administration strives to rebuild the state by addressing infrastructural deficits and deprivations.
