‘We now have a formidable platform’ — Kwara PDP declares after national convention

The Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared that it now possesses a “formidable platform” to contest and win future elections, following the successful conduct of the party’s national convention held in Abuja.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by the State Publicity Secretary, Olusegun Olusola Adewara, the party congratulated delegates, stakeholders, and members from the state who participated in the convention, describing the exercise as a significant milestone in the party’s rebuilding process.

The party expressed confidence that with the presence of officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), who monitored the exercise, and the subsequent recognition of the newly inaugurated National Working Committee (NWC), the PDP has effectively overcome its internal challenges.

According to the statement, the development has repositioned the party as a credible platform for Nigerians seeking to aspire and contest elections.

The Kwara PDP also commended its leader, Bukola Saraki, for leading the state’s delegation to the convention, noting that his efforts were instrumental in fostering unity and reconciliation within the party.

It added that Saraki made significant sacrifices to ensure the emergence of a cohesive PDP capable of offering a viable alternative to what it described as misgovernance at both the national and state levels.

The party further congratulated Kamaldeen Ajibade on his re-election as the PDP National Legal Adviser, describing the development as a testament to his competence, courage, and commitment to democratic ideals.

While pledging its full support to the newly inaugurated NWC led by the National Chairman, Abdulrahman Mohammed, the Kwara PDP urged members across the state to remain united and committed to the task ahead.
