We have not withdrawn from U19 National Youth League – Kwara United

Kwara United Football Club has addressed rumours suggesting that the team has abandoned its participation in the U-19 National Youth League.

This was stated in a release by the club’s media officer, Ayodeji Ismail, on Monday.

The Informant247 earlier reported how the team failed to mobilise its players to travel to Yobe State for their first match against Yobe Desert Stars, scheduled for Tuesday, 24 September 2024.

In the statement, the club’s chairman, Kumbi Titiloye, clarified that they have not withdrawn but have instead requested a postponement of their opening match in Yobe due to unforeseen circumstances.

He explained that the club had officially written to the league organisers seeking to reschedule their first game to align with their senior team’s trip to Maiduguri for a match against El-Kanemi.

“We have formally written to the National Youth League organisers to request a postponement of our opening game; we are only awaiting their response,” he said.

“The club remains committed to maintaining a strong U-19 team and fully participating in the league while awaiting a response from the organisers regarding their request,” the statement reads.
