“We can’t keep doing the same things” — Alabi declares interest in Kwara assembly seat from Isin

Another aspirant has emerged in the race for the Kwara State House of Assembly from Isin Local Government Area, as Solomon Folorunsho Frank Alabi formally signalled his intention to contest.

Alabi, who hails from Ile-Agbaja in Oke-Aba Ward of Isin LGA, said his decision to join the race is driven by the need for a new approach to governance and representation at the grassroots.

“We cannot continue to do things the same way in Isin Local Government Area and expect new results,” he said, stressing the urgency for innovation and people-oriented leadership.

A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alabi brings a blend of academic, professional, and legislative experience to the contest.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Abuja, alongside a Post-Graduate Diploma in Elections and Political Party Management, and a Master’s degree in Constitutional Law and Constitutional Development.

He is also a Certified Management Consultant and has undergone extensive training in legislative processes and human rights, both locally and internationally.

Alabi previously served for a decade at the Centre for Management Development before moving into private consultancy.

He currently leads Alsofol Integrated Services Limited as Principal Consultant, where he provides advisory services.

In 2023, he was appointed as a Consultant to the Human Rights Committee of the House of Representatives, contributing to legislative development through drafting of bills and motions for various committees.

His work has particularly focused on human rights protection, environmental safety, and policy frameworks affecting host communities in Nigeria’s oil-producing regions.

He was also part of the review process for the proposed National Human Rights Commission Bill 2025, aimed at strengthening the institution’s investigative powers and aligning it with international standards.

Describing himself as a team player with a passion for service, Alabi said his aspiration is anchored on using law and governance as tools to drive grassroots development and improve the lives of people in Isin.

His emergence adds to the growing list of contenders positioning for the 2027 elections in Kwara State, particularly within the APC, where internal competition is gradually taking shape across constituencies.
