Mallam Saliu Mustapha, the Kwara Central Senatorial District candidate on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has donated two 4-bedroom apartments to the wives of the late famous Islamic scholar, Sheikh Abdulganiy Aboto Al-Adaby.
This was confirmed by a renowned Islamic cleric, Sheikh Abdulquadri Kamaldeen Al-Adaby.
The Informant247 recalls that the Turaki of Ilorin Emirate (Saliu Mustapha) had earlier made a promise to donate houses to the widows.
This kind gesture has come as a way of giving honour and respect to their deceased husband who lost his life in the flooding that occupied some locations of the state in October.
The Informant247 also learned that the deceased cleric did not leave behind a house of his own, and has the sum of N 13,500 remaining in his bank accounts.
It was gathered that the scholar was survived by 2 wives and 17 children living with him in a rented apartment.
As a way of ameliorating the sadness of the widows and other relations of the deceased cleric, Mustapha gifted the two widows houses.
He has also empowered them with substantial amount of money as capital to start businesses of their own and support the families of the late Islamic leader.
It was gathered that the Khaliful Adabiya, Sheik Mohammed Kamaldeen received the keys to the new houses, and also received the signed documents of ownership of the houses.
At the occasion of handing-over were AbdulHafiz Aboto, the first son of the cleric, and other representatives of the deceased scholar.
While on the part of Mallam Mustapha were Mallam Mayaiki; Prince Agboola Sulu-Gambari; Abdullahi Abdullateef Sudaisy.
Sheikh Kamaldeen, while addressing the people attested that Mallam Mustapha had been a blessing to the community long.
He added that the kindness shown to the family of Aboto has no political undertone.
“We didn’t expect this but he promised and he has come to fulfil it. His representatives and lawyers are here to hand over the keys and documents of the two houses,” the cleric said.
He prayed that God continue to be with and bless the APC candidate for moving Islam forward.
“We cannot thank him enough. He sympathises with us so much, ” the cleric said.
“Mustapha has shown that everything one has belongs to God. The surviving widows have been in a rented apartment and Mustapha was moved to help them. He promised apartments and he also promised empowerment programmes for them.
Sheikh Kamaldeen added: “What Mustapha did is also exemplary. Thank God Aboto finished the work in a comforting manner that gives us assurance that he will be with God in his paradise. He did not live to amass wealth.”
Sheikh Kamaldeen also added that Mustapha did not only show kind gesture to the family of Aboto alone but also to families of other victims of the accident.
