UPDATED: Emir of Ilorin confirms  passing of Balogun Ajikobi, commiserates with family

Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council has confirmed the death of the Balogun Ajikobi of Ilorin, Alhaji Isiaka Okunrin Jeje.

A statement by Emir’s spokesperson, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, expressed deep sadness over the passing of the number 4 in the seniority ranks of the Emirates.

The statement read, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. Today, Sunday, 23rd February 2025, I received the news of the demise of Alhaji Isiaka Okunrinjeje, a very loyal and committed traditional chief and one of the Kingmakers in the Ilorin Emirate.”

The Emir, while describing the late Balogun Ajikobi as a true gentleman who dedicated his life to the progress of the Ilorin Emirate, the Balogun Ajikobi dynasty, and humanity, extended his heartfelt condolences to the deceased’s family and prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Al-Janatul Firdaus.

The Informant247 had earlier reported the death of Alh Isiaka Okunrin Jeje, the 12th Balogun Ajikobi of Ilorin.
