Unstoppable Osimhen inspires Napoli’s win over Eintracht Frankfurt

Victor Osimhen was again on song as Napoli outclassed 10-man Eintracht Frankfurt on Tuesday to get closer to their first Champions League quarter-final.

The Nigeria international struck in the 40th minutes after tapping in a pass from Hirving Lozano to set his team on another path of glory in their first leg of the round of 16 clash.

Kevin Trapp had earlier saved a Khvicha Kvaratskhelia penalty to deny Napoli an opener after Osimhen was tripped in the box.

The Serie A giants’ dominance would once again be at play when Osimhen relatively scored his second goal few seconds after netting the opener- the goal was later ruled out for offside.

Another impressive second half action saw Luciano Spalleti’s side getting the ultimate decider of the game when Giovanni Di Lorenzo netted a solo strike in the 65th minute after picking up the loopholes created by Randal Kolo Muani’s red card in 58 minutes.

Meanwhile, it was yet another great night for Osimhen who has  now scored 20 goals in 24 appearances this season— including 7 consecutive goals in Serie A for the first time in the history of the club.

The Partenopei will be hoping to make history when they host Eintracht Frankfurt in the second leg of the game billed for Estádio Diego Maradona on March 15.
