In a bid to ensure effective learning and imbibe the culture of good attitude, no fewer than 20 secondary school students were on Wednesday picked on the streets during school hours across Ilorin, the Kwara State Capital.

The Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu made this known while expressing her dissatisfaction over the recent unruly attitude exhibited by some learners of Government Day Secondary School, Adeta and Government High School, Adeta, in Ilorin Metropolis.

The Commissioner, while making an unscheduled visit to the schools to investigate the issues that triggered the unrest in the schools, warned the students to desist from loitering during school hours to enable the dreams of their parents to be actualized, promising that the State Government will not cease in its determination to ensure that all indigent children in the State become successful by providing inclusive and quality education to the citizenry.

Age-long battle in Kwara schools

She then assured of government intervention while also imploring the students to have a change of attitude and remain focused on their studies to have a blissful future.

While taking a tour, Modibbo Kawu appreciated the teachers for their commitment to duties, charging them to adhere to all policies of government meant for revamping the education sector.

She added that the State Government is prioritizing education to bring out the best in the learners as an enabler for a prosperous state and nation.
