Unknown gunmen kill Ogun Chief, wife in Lagos

An Ogun State Chief, Femi Egbeoluwa, and his wife have been assassinated in the Allen Avenue area of Lagos State

The Lagos State Police have launched an investigation into the criminal act.

The lives of the couple were reportedly taken by unknown gunmen, who invaded their house at 1 Adefolu drive, Allen Avenue, on Saturday, March 18, 2023.

Egbeoluwa, who’s a top civil servant during the administration of a former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel and his wife were killed by unknown gunmen.

A police source within the police force who spoke as an anonymous, said the victim was a traditional chief from Ilaro in Ogun State.

He added: “We got the report on Saturday. The man and his wife were assassinated, while their house was also injured.”

The incident was confirmed by the spokesperson of the Lagos state police command, Benjamin Hundeyin, affirming that investigation is ongoing.

He added that the househelp of the deceased was discovered unconscious at the scene and has been hospitalized.

The police spokesperson said the security agents have not arrested any suspect in connection with the crime.

Hundeyin said, ”Investigation is ongoing. Policemen have visited the scene. The house help was found unconscious but she is responding to treatment now in the hospital.

“The case has been transferred to the homicide section of the state Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba. SCID, Panti. No suspect yet.”
