Unknown gunmen invade palace, whisk away traditional ruler in Ondo

Some unidentified gunmen have kidnapped a traditional ruler, the Oloso of Oso, Oba Clement Jimoh Olukotun, in Ondo State.

Sources who witnessed the scenario in the community, revealed that the abductors invaded the house of the traditional ruler on Thursday around 10:15 pm and whisked him away to an undisclosed location.

The abductors shot sporadically as they invaded the palace of the monarch.

“They destroyed the main door and entered. They terrorised Kabiyesi and his family members before dragging him out and took him away. None of the family members had been contacted, but we knew they were kidnappers”.

The spokesperson of the police command, SP Funmilayo Odunlami, while confirming the development said: “it is true, but the details of the incident are still not clear.

“Police from the Divisional Police headquarters at Oke-Agbe, headquarters of Akoko Northwest Local Government have been deployed in the town to launch investigation into the incident.”
