Unilorin denies cult clash on campus
The management of the University of Ilorin has debunked a post on X (formerly Twitter) by one Naija Confra(@naijaconfra) on a purported cult clash at the institution.
In a statement on Monday by Kunle Akogun, the Director of Corporate Affairs at the University of Ilorin, while denying the media report, disclosed that although the tweet failed to provide details as to where on the university’s campus the purported clash took place. This omission instantly gave a lie to the tweet; the institution felt duty bound to disabuse the minds of her stakeholders, including students and parents, saying nothing of such occurred at the University of Ilorin “a few days ago” or at any time whatsoever.

The statement read, “The attention of the management of the University of Ilorin has been drawn to a tweet on X platform (formerly Twitter) by one Naija Confra (@naijaconfra) on a purported cult clash at the University.
“Even though the tweet failed to provide details as to where on our campus the purported clash took place, an omission that instantly gave a lie to the tweet, we feel duty bound to disabuse the minds of our stakeholders, including students and parents, that nothing of such occurred at the University of Ilorin “a few days ago” or at any time whatsoever.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the University of Ilorin remains entirely cult-free, a status it has maintained for some time now.
“So, the purported cult clash, as reported by Naija Confra, is entirely the figment of his wild imagination and has nothing to do with the University of Ilorin,” the statement concluded.
