UNICEF Begin Go-Back-To-School Campaign in Nasarawa
The United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) in affiliation with Nasarawa State Government has started going back to school campaign in the state in Nasarawa State.
Officials of the state government and UNICEF began the campaign in Lafia when they engage in media dialogue with Chief Executive and Correspondents on ‘Back to School Campaign and School Safety’ in the state.
Mohammed Bala Sani, Permanent Secretary (PS), in the state ministry of Education Science and Technology who speaking at the media dialogue at Ministry said the government with UNICEF would partner the media to achieve the objectives of the campaign.
The secretary explained that the campaign was in line with the priority of the Governor Abdullahi Sule-led administration to improve school enrolment of children, especially in rural communities.
Similarly, Musa Dan’Azumi, Chairman, Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) represented by Dr. Ibrahim Eshin, Director of Academic Services in the board expressed readiness to partner the media in creating awareness.
The SUBEB Chairman added that already the government through the board has provided befitting structures and teaching materials in most public junior secondary and primary schools.
