Gabriel Jesus had given Gunners a first-half lead but Adrien Thomasson and Sepe Wahi turn the game around with their goals for the hosts.
Meanwhile, Arsenal had a frustrating night with Bukayo Saka went off injured in the first half while the result also see Gunners dropping to second in the group, one point ahead of Sevilla after the Spanish side’s draw at PSV Eindhoven.
Speaking after the game on Saka’s injury, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expressed his doubt about Bukayo Saka’s availability for game against Manchester City on Sunday.
Earlier, Saka had been rested for a League Cup match against Brentford last week after suffering a knock in a 2-2 with Tottenham
Replaced by Fabio Vieira in the 34th minute of and the manager said the muscular issue was “big enough not to allow him to continue to play the game and that’s obviously a worry for us”.
“No, it was a knock that he picked up the other day, and he was perfectly fine” reacted the Manager when asked if he regretted starting Saka amid his injury issues.
“(Saka’s previous injuries) were more knocks than any other thing. The last few that he had, he hasn’t really missed games. We gave him a break against Brentford in the League Cup, and that was all.”
“It was a big Champions League night.I painted a picture, the scenario, the type of game we are going to have to face today and they all knew about it. But the Champions League is so difficult to win … and today we take a big lesson as well” he added.
Arsenal go into the game against City on Sunday with just one point difference from the League champions.
Seated third on the log with 17 points, Tottenham with the same points as Arsenal sit second on the log behind City’s 18 points.
