U20 World Cup: Nigeria’s flying Eagles to battle South Korea in quarter final
The Flying Eagles of Nigeria will battle their counterparts from South Korea in the quarter final of the on-going U-20 World cup in Argentina.
Recall that the Nigerian team defeated hosts Argentina 2-0 on Thursday in the Round of 16.
Second-half goals from Ibrahim Muhammed and Rilwanu Sarki sealed the victory for Ladan Bosso’s lads who had earlier emerged from the group stage as one of the best loser’s teams.
South Korea edged Ecuador 3-2 on Thursday night to book a date with the Flying Eagles.
The Flying Eagles quarter-final clash with South Korea is billed for Sunday, June 4, inside the Estadio Único Madre de Ciudades, Santiago del Estero at 6:30pm.
Historically, It will be the third meeting between both teams based on head to head at this level.
While the South Koreans outclassed Nigeria 2-1 in their first meeting in Netherlands 2005, the Flying Eagles got a revenge at the 2013 edition in Turkey by winning 1-0.
