Troops kill 11 bandits in Kaduna
Nigerian army have killed eleven bandits during a gun battle in Birnin Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The troops were reported to have moved to various identified areas and destroyed bandit camps in Bagoma, Rema, Bugai, Dagara, Sabon Layi, Gagumi, Kakangi, Katakaki and Randagi.
This was revealed in a statement released by the state’s commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan on Sunday April 2.
He said the military officers engaged the bandits at Kakangi and Katakaki, in serious gun battle, and they were able to conquer the criminals.
He said the troops killed eleven bandits while the rest of them absconded with bullet wounds.
He added that the troops recovered two AK-47 rifles, 57 rounds of ammunition and two AK-47 magazines and destroyed six motorcycles belonging to the bandits.
The Governor of the state, Nasir El-Rufai was impressed with the victorious outing of the troops and commended the General Officer Commanding the One Mechanized Division and the Force Commander of Operation Whirl Punch, Major General Taoreed Lagbaja for his leadership.
