Transfer: Chelsea poised to hijack Mudryk deal from Arsenal

Chelsea are likely going to break in the pursuit to secure the signature of Shakhtar Donetsk Star, Mykhaylo Mudryk from Arsenal.

While personal terms on a five-year deal have reportedly been agreed with the Gunners by the winger, the talks over a fee has remained a bone of contention between the North London side and the Shakhtar.

The Gunners have been chasing the 21-year-old Ukrainian for months, with their latest offer of £62million still falling well short of his current club’s asking price.

Meanwhile Shakhtar are holding out for a deal worth closer to £80m, a position that has improved now that Chelsea have joined Arsenal in the race for the forward.

According to The Sun, Chelsea officials want to meet with Shakhtar’s sporting director Darijo Srna when he travels to London later this week for negotiations.

The blues who are currently in the market to boost their squad seems poised to enter the race to get the high flying winger who posted  pictures of himself watching Arsenal games on social media recently.

Mudryk has netted 10 goals and eight assists in 18 appearances across all competitions this season, with his impressive exploits in the Champions League turning him to many admirers.
