Tragic loss: Boy with missing intestine passes away

In a heartbreaking development, Adebola Akin-Bright, the 12-year-old boy from Lagos state who had been suffering from a severe intestinal condition, has passed away.

The tragic news was confirmed by a source close to his Family on Tuesday.

Adebola breathed his last at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), where he had been receiving medical care.

His battle with this debilitating condition garnered significant attention, especially after a visit from Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Sunday.

During the visit, Governor Sanwo-Olu had pledged to cover all of Adebola’s medical expenses and care.

The heart-wrenching saga began when Adebola’s mother, in desperation, implored the governor to investigate the mysterious disappearance of her son’s small intestine.

She claimed that this distressing incident had taken place while Adebola was undergoing treatment at LASUTH.

However, it’s worth noting that the hospital administration strongly denied these allegations in a statement posted on its profile on X, dated August 12, 2023.

In a separate development earlier on Tuesday, the Lagos State House of Assembly made a resolute announcement.

They declared that anyone found responsible for any wrongdoing in the case of Adebola Akin-Bright’s missing intestine would face prosecution in accordance with the law.
