Toddler released after 3 months in kidnappers’ den dies five days later
A toddler, Ewhalshoh Mandela Mairabo, who was abducted with her mother and 29 others, has died five days after she was set free from captivity.
Bandits had invaded Dogon-noma in Maro Ward, Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, on May 20022, abducting the victim, the mother, and 29 others.
The families of the victims after much negotiations with bandits, were forced to make payment of N5 million as ransom before they could be released.
A family source has told journalists in Kaduna on Thursday that they made payment of the ransom, as their sister with the daughter was set free on August 30, 2022, after eliminating one of the victims in captivity.
The young toddler gave up the ghost, five days after being released from captivity.
Efforts to reach DSP Mohammed Jalige proved abortive as he did not pick up his calls for confirmation.
