Tinubu not wrong saying he made Buhari president – Tinubu’s camp

The campaign team of the national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has made clarifications to some of the statements attributed to Tinubu during the week.

The Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu campaign organisation via a statement signed by its Director, Media & Communications, Bayo Onanuga, has said that some of the reports circulated about the presidential aspirant were full of errors, misleading and mischievous contents.

The Informant247 had reported that Tinubu, a leading presidential aspirant of the ruling party, met and addressed the delegates of the party in Abeokuta, capital of Ogun State on Thursday.

Tinubu took his audience back to memory lane, boasting that he masterminded the emergence of President Muhammadu Buhari, appointment of Professor Yemi Osinbajo as Vice President and Dapo Abiodun as the Governor of Ogun State in 2015.

This has however generated widespread controversy among Nigerians, and many said the former Governor of Lagos state disrespected President Buhari.

The campaign team said there was no gainsaying in all what Tinubu said.

The campaign organisation said the contributions of Tinubu to the emergence and electoral value of the party in the time past, should be respected by the party.

“At no time did Tinubu play any ethnic card or denigrate any ethnic group,” the group said.

“…Tinubu’s comment did not demonstrate any disrespect to President Buhari, for whom he has a very high regard, and whose re-election campaign he chaired in 2019 ” the group said.
