Thugs caught with AK-47 rifle during campaign are terrorists – Mattawalle
Bello Mattawalle, the Zamfara Governor has vowed to bring to book attackers that disrupted the All Progressives Congress (APCs) presidential campaign rally in the State last Monday.
Governor Mattawalle, while addressing the newsmen, said that the civilians in possession of Ak-47 rifles had ulterior motives, referring to them as ‘terrorists’.
He said: “I wonder what civilians could be doing with AK-47 rifles or other dangerous weapons if they are not terrorists.”
The Governor said he had ordered all security chiefs in the State to properly abide by the presidential order to shoot anybody caught with AK-47 rifle or any dangerous weapon during campaigns.
The anti-thuggery committee established by the Zamfara State Government apprehended 35 alleged political thugs.
However, the Governor warned all political parties in the State to adhere and abide by the rules.
