Three men bagged six months jail term for selling adulterated rice in Jigawa
The Jigawa State Consumer Protection Board has arrested and sentenced three persons to six months imprisonment for mixing 10 bags of Paddy rice with the husks.
gathered that the chairman of the committee, Farouk Abdallah Mallam Madori, disclosed this to newsmen.
He said the men were arrested at Hadejia market in Hadejia Local Government Area of Jigawa state.
He confirmed that those arrested include Adamu Muhammad, Usman Ibrahim, and Umar Adamu, adding that they had been arraigned before the mobile court, of the board, presided by Justice Munir Sarki Jahun.
He said the court sentenced them to six months imprisonment or the option of paying a fine of N70,000 each after finding them guilty of the offence.
