Three die in Kwara cult clash
At least three persons were reportedly killed in a cult clash at Ibagun/Okelele community in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, on Tuesday.
It was gathered that the killing spree started around 8pm on Monday when one AbdulGaniy, aka Messi, was gunned down.
However, on Tuesday, some aggrieved persons believed to be the deceased’s gang members reportedly killed one Adebayo Yitta, at his Aso Oke weaving centre.
An eyewitness, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said, “Adebayo was hacked to death after he was shot. Also, one Lanre was killed today (Tuesday).”
The community heads summoned an emergency meeting over cult attacks in the area in the last two days which led to the killing of three people.
Meanwhile, the District Head of Ibagun in Okelele community, Ilorin, Malam Sakariyau Ilufemiloye, condemned the invasion by the cultists, confirming that two people were killed during the cultist attack on Monday and Tuesday.
Ilufemiloye, therefore, summoned an emergency meeting of all family heads and the security committee in the community over the development.
