Three arraigned for allegedly stealing milk 

Three men were on Thursday arraigned before a Surulere Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing 224 cartons of powdered milk worth N2.6 million.

The suspects Adio Ademola, 37, Shoroye Olumide,41, and Muiz Opeyemi, 27 are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Courage Ekhueorohan, told the court that the defendants committed the offences with some others still at large on Jan. 8 at No 44, Eric Moore Road, Surulere, Lagos.

Ekhueorohan said that the defendants broke into a warehouse and stole 172 cartons of 350 grams and 52 cartons of 800 grams of Dano powdered milk worth N2. 6 million.

He said that the items belonged to Ominibiz Products.

Ekhueorohan said that the defendants were arrested by the police on a tip-off.

He said that the offences contravened Sections 406 (2) and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.

The Magistrate, Mrs M. I. Dan-Oni, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N200, 000 each with two sureties each in like sum.

She adjourned the case until Jan. 25 for mention. (NAN)
